Hub to small?

Just got my hub kit for my 150 evinrude pushing my 21 flite.. Threw on my 24p trophy plus ventilated and realized that the hub is too small for the gearcase.. Ran It anyway and gained 1mph over my 21p no name prop.. But it did carry the bow a lot higher.. What are the downfalls to having the space around the prop hub?

Alot of people, including myself, run the trophy plus on the large gearcase motors. It gives a little extra ventilation on holeshot and allows you
to run a taller pitch prop for speed and still get on plane. I love mine. Best
prop i've tried and i've tried many. I would think a 24 on that boat with a
150 would be a bit much. I run a 23 on my 18' exciter with a 200 merc.
what are you seeing for rpm?

My tach stopped working 15min after I bought the boat :(.. And on that note, how can you test a tach? Is there a voltage test on the rec/reg or an ohm test on the tach itself can be tested?

No issues to worry about, it be fine. You could put a weed ring on it but those plastic ones don't usally last long anyway, so unless your blowing out the prop to much on take off carry on...

Its fine. The smaller hub does allow more exhaust to pass around it. This helps you on takeoff when you are running the larger pitch.

I'm running a small hub 4 blade Turbo on mine. It runs fine.
