Where have you guys rigged yours? Right now it looks like it's going starboard screwed into the bottom seat frame.... anyone do anything different?

Looks like it's gonna be a whole bunch of fun....:irked:

Also, anyone know the torque specs for the Transom bolts? Engine bolts? Loctite or not so much?

Josh, I would not mount the pump to the seat frame...the wood really isn't that strong and if you ever have to remove the seat you'll have to disconnect the pump...plus, if you get a leak there's a chance it may seap onto your carpet. I have my pump mounted/through bolted to the transom knee on an aluminum bracket. The knees are about 2" thick and will support anything you mount. You can use the existing bolts that mount your motor to the transom for the Jackplate. You will need 4 new stainless steel 1/2-13 X 2.5" bolts/washers/locknuts to mount the motor to the Jackplate. Use 4200 or 5200 marine sealant around all the transom bolts. Use anticease on all the the locknuts. There's a picture floating around here somewhere that shows my transom/pump mount when I was replacing my floor. I'll try and find it for you.

Well, I found one picture before I remounted the pump. The Pump is through bolted to the port transom knee on the inside so if it leaks it will drain into the bilge.

BADBK,

That looks like a lot of weight there ! I think you should have gone with a manual. Maybe you should forget about the pump and leave it in that position. Save a little weight minus the pump.

Thanks Steve- Bob's instructions say it must be verticle so I'll check out the transom knee and see what I can make work, and it's all in one so only one thing to mount. Looks like a whole bunch more room to work without the seat in there!! Might have to take my back rest out....

hotbeek, man, you got me good.

Hey Steve what do I need them big a$$ bolts for? Won't my existing work just fine?

I located mine between the knee walls and screwed it to the transom with some 4200 on the back plate and screws. It is almost in the bottome of the bilge and out of the way on the left of center

My bad..I forgot you already have 8 bolts/nuts...4 for the transom/jackplate and 4 for the motor/jackplate....my installation requires 12 bolts/nuts because I have a Jackplate between my setback bracket and motor...4 for the transom/setback, 4 for the jackplate/setback and 4 for the motor/jackplate....Josh your existing hardware should work fine.

Josh, I think you misunderstood my photo. The photo show the pump lying on the floor before I mounted it vertically to the transom knee. The pump is vertically mounted on the inside of the port transom knee using the 1/4" aluminum plate. I'll try and get a picture showing how it's mounted...

I put mine in the exact same location!!:bigthumb:
It's funny when I look back at these old photos....all the hoses/rigging are still covered with grinding/fibreglass dust...it took alot of hosing everything down to clean off all the dust before the new carpet/seats/etc. went back in the boat!! Lot's of itchy memories!! lol
