Hydrofoil?????? input please:)

Combat Rock

Ok so first off, I never liked the idea of a hydrofoil stuck on my motor....

but! the new stingray XRIII looks like it might actually have something to offer as far as getting on plane and handling.

Has anyone here tried one of these hydrofoils
and if so What did it DO for You????

I dont want to blindly shell out $100+ on a P.O.S.

any help would be greatly appreciated as always
thanks guys.

nice! i think Im a gonna try one. if i dont like it maybe ill be able to send it back.

the little mates always go Bow High on the take off, maybe Ill get a good holeshot with my turbo 4 blade. I love that prop but its so slow outta the hole with a load in the boat. that prop is so fast with that boat and it makes docking a breeze.

They work on the smaller Mates but not the larger. I have had a small one for years on my Diplomat and it has been great. It is out of the water at higher speeds so does not reduce top speed. I decided to try one on my Starliner. It was SE Sport 300 which is not too wide like some. It was ridiculous. Caused massive porpoising. Because the motor is mounted so high (2" below shaft) the fin was never in the water at any speed. Best I can figure is that water coming off the prop was pushing on the bottom of the fin causing the boat to bounce.
