That stinks! What kind of Checkmate has a 6hp Tohatsu on it?
This is your chance to upgrade to a 300 Merc!

 If he does that, he won't need the sails anymore, and he could slap some Checkmate decals on it.

Kidding aside, is that all they took and did they do any damage to the boat?

That baby would look awesome with 300 black horses on the back.
Can you see the look on the rest of the faces at the regatta as he blows by doing 50?

Yup, and he could moon them all while doing it.:thumb:

I heard his motor was found on another boat, tied to a line, as some sort of safety device for an overpowered(not possible) boat of some discription.

they keyword here was "sailing"....buy anyway had that happen to me a few years ago, stole a new 15 merc off my triumph dingy while sitting on the back of my gibson..was locked and bolted !! the unbolted it and pryed the whole aluminum mount off never dealing with the lock !!! sucks for sure !!!

WINTON TERRACE — A man was electrocuted Sunday after he broke into a Duke Energy substation to steal copper cable, according to Cincinnati police.
The man cut a hole in the outside fence at the substation in the 4600 of block of Este Avenue and was electrocuted while cutting a piece of copper cable, Sgt. Mike Brown said.
A Duke employee checking on possible electrical problems at the substation found the dead man.
Police didn’t release the man’s name.
Service was interrupted to make repairs at the substation and not as a result of the copper wire being cut, a Duke spokeswoman said. Power was out for less than an hour. About 2,500 customers were affected. Duke first became aware of the incident around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

sorry to hear, unfortunately i know how pissed you are. back in 09 someone stole the complete blower setup off my racecar, and in 06 had my polaris 500 sportsman ho. sucks when you go out and work your a$$ off to buy these things and someone comes and walks away with it. if you ever catch them, take a hammer to their hands so they cant steal anything again.

I'm sure we all have stories, but this one has alwayd gotten me.
My grandfather leaves his boat on a lift. Went down and dropped it in to go for a ride. Soon noticed the stern looking a bit low in the water so he pulled the lift back up. Some one had stolen the outdrive off the boat right on the lift.

Ouch... that's rough! Takes some balls to pull that one off.

Not a major theft, but things being stolen nonetheless. When I was younger, someone was stealing everyones live bait at the marine my parents kept their boat. This was a lot of live bait that people worked hard to either catch themselves or pay for. My dad and I decided to sit on the boat one night and wait for someone to come along. Never saw anyone walking around or pull up by boat, but we heard our bait pen start to rattle around. We quietly went and looked over the side of the boat to see two otters opening up the bait pen... We got a good laugh out of it:bigthumb:

Just when you think you've seen or heard it all.

For the record;
A. Sorry to hear about your loss and somebody ripping you off- that stinks!
B. I happen to love sailing. Given the choice between a day out on my Check and a day out on a Hobie 16, hard wind, sponson up in the air ..? ..hard call which I would go for. I love sailing!!!
We take vacations all the time scuba and sailing over stayin' home on the Check.
But nothin' beats busting chops online when there's nothing else doing.
Sorry.

I had a ride on a 32 footer years ago on Lake George. He had this sail boat ( I think the term was keel up ) This boat was cookin and I was standing up on the side of the boat. Scared the hell out of me..But still enjoyed it.

Sailing can also involve some serious adrenaline.

Sailing can also involve some serious adrenaline.

And a lot of serious knowledge on the part of the skipper.

My only ride on a sail boat was a bad one, :irked: the skipper didn't know what the heck he was doing and almost killed us. :shakehead: I will never trust a sail boat skipper again!

Sorry friend no offense to you !

No offense taken. I don't even own a sailboat and if I did I would know better than to invite you. I'm stickin' to motorbotes with you. ( Is the house ready yet?)
Good to see you back on site.
