Do any of you fine gentlemen have any opinions on this Glastron?

As some of you know I'm looking for my first boat and I need one that fits in a 19 foot garage. I can turn it slightly sideways to get another 9 or 10 inches. I like Top_Enticers boat but this just popped up in my local area.

Cool Boat, But

You would be unhappy with that fishin mota in about 30 min's Try to find something with a bit more Umph ( Everyone on here knows what I mean )

Glastron

:surf:Had one like it a few years back but black and white with the same motor. loved it, it would make a nice first boat real good on fuel.easy to keep up. If you decide you really like boating you could change motor down the road or trade for another boat. NEVER buy a boat you have not ran !!!!
GOOD LUCK :surf:

I was thinking that a 60 is pretty small but the boat is so clean. Heres a few more pics.

The boat looks real clean. Looking at your other toys I'm gonna say you'll not be happy with that hp. Don't know your budget but you would need another motor or keep looking to be happy. I agree boats garage keep is always best, maybe you have homeowners so you have to but to have a bigger better boat I would consider keeping it outside. If covered and taken care of it will be fine.

Onething, With that mota you know that hull has not been stressssssed out.You might get gas money for the season selling that one. A nice v6 anywhere 135-200 would be fine. COOL BOAT!

There are 2 on my lake, same family and they both ski/ tube all day long with them. I think they have 120 Yammahas? and they pull adults real well.
Change out the power and enjoy!

I have always been a big fan of glastrons! I was looking for one when I found me checkmate. with the smaller motor you can learn at a good pace. After you are confident with the boat you can then repower. one of the best boat that we had over the years only had a 90 hp nissan on it. it taught me how to turn and control a boat so when I stepped into my first big hp boat I felt safe. If they will give a lake test take it. If all seems good then buy it and enjoy it. then when you are comfortable with it repower and love it!!

Gentleman I thank you for all your input.

The boat is kept on a lake with a Nuclear Reactor on it and it never freezes. Sounds funny to me looking as today I ran past my closest lake that is frozen solid.

I should be able to give it a test drive.

Very nice.

Seems like a steel $4,000.00, What year is the Hule. Motor skeg looks very clean no damage, get an Optimax 115 or E tec 115. Sweet Boat with good gas mileage.

Look VERY close at the transom. Glastron didn't always put enough beef into the transoms of the boats they built. There will be stress cracks in the corners of the splashwell, but make sure they're just gel hair-line cracks NOT a big open gap crack. If there's any type of open crack, you'll know for sure the transom is wet and maybe won't hold a bigger engine.
That's one good looking boat there, hope it works out for you!

$4000 would be nice if it had a larger engine. You wont get squate for that tracker and a 115 will cost $2000 or more.

I do like the boat though. :thumb:

You will be happier in the end with Top_Enticers boat, its faster and has more room. Quit dragging your feet and get ahold of him. You could make the trip in a weekend.

I had the same boat but with a 140 hp johnny, it was a good handling boat but I found myself looking for more power even with the 140.

looks like a clean boat but like was already said check the transom close, mine was bad and so are just about every other one I've seen, I don't think you will be happy with that pontoon mota on there, with 4 people onboard I would be surprised if it would even plane out.

see if you can find out what was on it before to see what kind of stress might have been put on the transom before they hung that 60 on there.

Come on, a 60hp on a 300#, 13' playmate is boring. I can't imagine being on that boat. I would not pay $4000 for that boat as I consider it a hull and trailer

Thanks again for all the responses. Feels kinda funny being ignorant but I'll learn in due time. The boat is an '87 and it had a 90 HP on it before. Heres a few more pics.

Qua Qua I think you should buy your sister-inlaws 21' br checkmate & just keep it there. I'm sure they will keep it running in tip top shape.
