" For Sale" Imco Powerflow Exhaust for GM big block

It is recommended the standard Imco manifolds be used with a closed cooling system, The engine coolant is isolated from the exhaust manifolds,
The recirc manifolds can be plumb different ways and the are used to preheat the water before cooling the exchanger coolant or they can be tied into the exchanger coolant that recircs through the block, This is only done when the water temp. is extremely cold all the time, like Canada or Alaska lakes.
In any application with Imco the risers are cooled with sea water
If plumbed in this way on most lakes in the states the cold water can't keep up to cool the engine properly.
So if you have a closed cooling system and boat west, mid or east cost in the summer. you should run the standard manifolds.

MK

I must cearify something here if you have a large enough capacity exchanger you can run coolant through your manifolds. The closed cooling system that come on the Bravos are general not big enough to do this and may run too hot. This is straight from Imco.

I guess its not as simple as I thought. I also read an article that backed up what you said about colder climates. Too bad, I thought it would be a good way to protect the manifolds from the harsh salt water environment.
