Is this a ZT240?

Hi, first time poster, long time admirer.
I am looking at a boat billed as a 2002 ZT230. But they didn't make one. I am thinking it is a 240, or a different year. Here are some pics. Feedback would be so appreciated!! Other consideration is a 2005 ZT230 (?) with the 496 which is obviously more money. 270 hours on the '02, 151 hours on the '05 which also has tabs, dock lights and flipup bolsters.

I asked about the capacity tag, which usually lists boat model #, he can't find it and I don't see it in the passthrough where these normally are.
Thanks in advance.

Are you in NY? I ask because I see these locally on craigs . The red boat was for sale last year in VT and again this spring I think it was $16500 if I can recall. The yellow bit is quite a bit more $$ but looks clean actually both do. I think the red has a 6.2 with upgraded drive. That is a nice package and good on fuel good luck keep us posted .

I don't recall Checmate producing the ZT 240 in an open bow.

The red boat is a ZT230. Also the ZT 240's have stand-up bolsters. Overall they are quite a bigger boat than the 230.

Yes NY. Great Sacandaga Lake, to be specific. Which can be rough, 2-3 seas that I like to go out in. I think both are for sale after one year, yes. Both look super clean. Thanks, will do.

Thanks. The red boat is proportedly a 2002 ZT230 BR. I now see it is not a 240, it has the lower seats. (flip up bolsters are available in 2005, the yellow one with the 496 has em). NADA has the 240 at 3600#, the 230 at only 2900#. Quite a diff on one foot!
Problem is, NADA doesn't list a ZT230 until 2004.

I'll get the HIN and check with checkmate.

Thanks!

Trim Tabs

On a ZT 230, do trim tabs make much difference? I've never had them. The 496-equipped boat has em, the 377-equipped boat does not. I do expect to hit some 2 footers out on the lake. Ill slow down for bigger water. maybe.

Bolsters are nice an really help the rough water ride. I would say for Sacandaga you would not be happy in the red boat . It gets rough out there as you stated. I have the 22 convinsor and it does ok Would rather have a 25 when it kicks up the day boat traffic. Good luck this is a great forum . We wil meet up next year I boat there often also lake george

The Seebold Eagle I've been running, after 1.5' of chop it gets pretty rough on impact. Doesn't mean I didn't go out though. Im hoping the deeper V on checkmates will allow me to hold some more speed in the sacandaga chop. If it's too rough I'll skirt the shore or just ride em slow and get soaked.

Now that's funny! We're all forced to restrain ourselves with Chillun's aboard.:rof:
I will never forget the day that atc's daughter broke her tooth on the Hudson. Poor kid. What wouldn't any of us do to keep that from happening again?
And dogs. Gotta look out for the dogs when carrying. Far more important than stinkin' humans.
