So being at the boat show this weekend I realized a few things. First, this was the biggest one in St. Louis in a few years so that's great! It looks like the sport and economy is comin back. Second, there were zero powerboats. People could say its because of the bad economy but people are all over the place spending 50 60 100 200 grand on boats. Big bow riders and cruisers. They would spend money on powerboats but there aren't any. Baja and fountain being gone, what's the next closest affordable powerboat? I'd say checkmate is the no brainier answer. Boating is comin back. Power boating will come back too. I think the only powerboat for the workin man is checkmate. That's kinda cool. I think it's gonna be a good year for them. I'd say it looking up for checkmate!

It was better than I expected also and there were actually a variety of boats there, however, wish there would have been a couple powerboats. On a side note I thing the boating business is looking up also as there seemed to be a number of boats sold there.

I know a few salesmen down there and they all said they were selling a ton of boats. The one dealer sold 2 32 foot chaparrals at 230k each!

If you want to go to a Baltimore boat show the links in my sig.:surf:

Theres no performance boats at the real show. cruisers, toons and ski boats. If you want to go look at some boats and gear then have dinner at the harbor and maybe make a night of it then its a good time.
