ok guys i am going to put my 10" JP on my 86 starflite witha 200 black max. But I Think that i have a problem, The steering cables Will i have enough for the ten inches of set back up. also the cable seems to be as hard as a rock. some one give me some info and some pics for the task at hand.

merc245 used stock cables with 14" setback. i am sure he had to wrastl with it to get it mounted but..............

after looking at mine i think you need to remove the cables from the inner mounts to make some slack.

ONCE AGAIN

I have a 10''setback with a 4.5 jack I've been running apx 10 yrs now with the cables that came stock with the boat.A little stiffer but the ole' lady has no proplem driving all day if I let her.As U see in my avatar she is No Olimpic shotputer either. But to think about it she's has never lost an arm wrestling match either(just add tequila).Just one of those natrualy strong beings I guess?

Bolt the steering cables thru the tubes while the engine is on the host then turn your engine flush to the transom.lightly bolt it down and see if U can live with it??????????????????????????????
