Hello I am new to the group i havent had a Checkmate in about 10 years i use to have an old V161 outboard it was a fun boat .I just bought a 1980 Inticer with a 115 Mercury, the motor has a bad piston and crank bearing so I will have to rebuild, the boat is in perfect shape but the seats will need recovered this winter. I payed 1100.00 do you think this was a good deal ? and can any one tell me anything about the Inticer its a nice looking boat but hey its a Checkmate.

We have scans of the 1980 brochure in the showroom, there might be some info in there about the Inticer.

Sweet boat dude, i have a 92 Enticer with 115 Merc.

For your info mine was 7 years old when i bought it from original ower, with a 5700lb trailor(yes its way over sized). It was mint, and i mean mint, everyone thought i bought new, and i paid 13,400cdn with all taxes in.

You will find, though it isnt the fastest one water, it handles better then any other boat you will run with, it turns inside on a dime with the right trim, mine has been compared to a roller-coaster ride on many occasions. It handles the big water of lake Ontario with out hesitation, a feat for its relative small stature, but on the northern lakes of Ontario is where i found it really shines.

I turn more heads, i get more people stopping to admire it and ask questions then any boat i have been in before. Ill be stopped on a public area just chatting up fellow boaters, and people will come in just to see it and ask questions.

Mates get it done, in any size.

Hey Derrick. I have an Enticer too, she's an '85. I bought boat, motor, and trailer about three years ago. I've finished rebuilding the boat AND trailer, and tuned up the Merc 150 that's on her. I've done way too much to list here. In about a week, I'll be putting her in the water for the first time!!
Have fun with your project!!!
