Labor day pics

Had some good weather today, 85* and no wind :D had a beach day, probably the last one od the year, brought the boat home today.

Friday and Sat was kind of cool and windy, not much to do so I decided to go over to the family cabin across the lake and dig my old sea doo out of the bush, it developed a spark issue a few years ago right around the time I bought the mate and I kind of lost interest, I figured the kids might like to go for a ride now and I was right, when I took the tarp off they were just a little excited to learn that it was ours, I mean jumping up and down, lol.

I didn't want to even try and start it without fresh gas so I towed it back to the launch by my place and loaded it up there, got it home and drained the gas, cleaned the carb, tried to charge the battery with no luck so went and bought a new one and it started right up, we used it today and you can get about 20 mins out of it, then it loses spark and you have to wait a little while and then it's good again, guess I'll try and fix that over the winter so the kids can go on it next year.

The rope only broke once towing it the 7 miles to my place, lol, I really gotta start carrying a decent camera, these phone pics are sheeeet.

My Mom came over and had to go for a ride, it quit on her and I towed her about 20' behind the check at 60 mph, wish I would have had that on video, she was a little wet :rof:

My dancing girls, not sure I'm happy about how much they liked swinging around that ski pole, :rof:

We had a convoy going on the way home, luckily didn't lose any wheel bearings and my van seamed to like that 3 year old gas I put in it:bigthumb:

Gotta say I'm damn happy with that Check, used it every weekend again this summer and not one problem, I'm busy doing house stuff now but still gonna try and get out a few times to the local lake before I shut it down for the year.

I wish I could say I was out every weekend. Next year will be different damit! lol
Change the plugs on that ski, I took mine out and they ran like crap till I changed the plugs, then they were new again. Good pics I'm living threw others pics this summer. Man I need the water more!

Thanks for the pics John. That was great! You really oughta thing about removing that ski pole before the girls get the wrong idea.
It may not save you a lifetime of heartache but at least you won't go around forever thinking it was your fault.
By the way, I think the quality of your pictures are just fine. I like the one of Mom on the Jet Ski. That is so cool-you could never get my mother on one of those.

As always, great pics! For good info on the ski check out greenhulk forums. Watch with that Polaris, they wed the first carb from the pump, the 1st fed the 2nd, and the 2nd fed the 3rd. As you can imagine, alot of them lost the piston on the last carb in the chain. A triple outlet snowmobile pump is cheap insurance.

This one is a 700 twin, same deal as the triple for that issue?

I don't know about the twin. If its only got one carb then it can't have that problem, it only happens with multi carb units. However, it could lean out if the carb got some crap in it from the tank. Just make sure that you have an inline filter.

Nice pic's John! our weekend was cool windy and rain:mad: It sounds like something with the ignition, as it works when cold , then acts up when its is warm. i would check the coils first. hope this helps!

John, I envy the fact that you got out every weekend this season.
The only good use I got was a week during July when I got to vaca
in the 1000 Islands, NY. I serously hate to put my Mate in salt water
therefore I didn't get as much use as I wanted.

That is going to change next season. I go to closing on my waterfront
property in the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River near Rockport, Ontario in 10 days. I will stay there from May 1 until October 15. Then, I will get as much use of the Mate as I can afford.

As always John.. You have great pictures with the family.. Oh by the way ,, I checked the date to make sure It wasn't a old thread.. That was funny :D.. Thanks again for posting my pics.. I have to learn

Labor Day

Nice pics John. Sea Doo looks in pretty good shape. Shame on you for towing your Mom doing 60 mph. LOL. I went out Sunday, wife had to work, didn't take the kids. Hung out with my group, drove as fast as I wanted, went were I chose, and came back in when I decided to,,,,,, It was great.

Keith, you shoulda came out. The water was nice. Next time if you want, meet at Sandy Point and you can ride with me.

Lookin' good, John. We had a great weekend as well, but it was really windy. Went for a couple of rides and then a huge, floating bog of catails broke loose from the other side of the lake and blew up against our dock and lifts. No boating the rest of the weekend. The wind changed on Monday and the bog floated on its merry way.

Just about pulled the boat for the season, but changed my mind after some fellow mat enthusiasts made me tough it out. I won't get to the lake for 3 weeks but it'll be ready to run when I do.

Well I did miss 2 weekends this year because of the move but I figure the 10 days straight that we stayed there in July made up for it:D

Congrats on your new property, I'm sure you will love it, I consider myself very lucky that I've always had a weekend place to go to and it's only 100 miles door to door, sure makes it easy to go boating every weekend when you don't have to trailer anywhere.

I like the offer! It was the mother in laws bday, possible rain for an hour each way trip, blah blah blah I didn't get out AGAIN!:shakehead: I need to just balls up and make it known I'm going boating dam it, but then I relize I have to live with these poeple.:pissed: Oh well!:rof:

Thanks, it is in pretty good shape, I got it new in 2001 and while it's spent it's life outside it has always sat on a lift with a factory tarp on it, it's got 146 hours on it now and the spark problem is the first problem it's had.

Good to hear you got out for some alone time to cruise, I wish I could do that more, it's rare that I get out without my kids, I don't really mind it but it would be nice to go by myself a little more and let it eat, on the positive side my kids have been on the boat so much that at 3 and 5 years of age they aren't at all scared at 70 mph :bigthumb:

They like waves to, when the wind really picks up and most people are heading off the lake they think it's fun to go out.

I plan on making a few alone trips to the local lake before winter to get my fix.

PS. realistically I was probably towing her at 40 mph ;)

Hey Sim, My Mom is a speed junkie, when my buddy had his hydrostream with the 300 pro max out a few weeks ago she went for a ride and then told me I needed one, just wish the wife thought that way :o

Just look at how calm she looks with my son driving, :bigthumb: next year when he learns how to air it out we'll see if she still looks that calm :D

Now that is cool,,, Mom and your kid going full tilt !!! :bigthumb:

John, I must say your are a very trusting man. Enough said.

I won't even let my wife behind the wheel of the Starflite. The only thing she ever drove fast and it didn't scare her was my snow mobile. I bought one just for her and she didn't like it beacause it wasn't fast enough. She took mine.
