Lake Ozark Shootout 2013 - new record

224 mph.
Whew! - its the most wonderful time of the year around these parts. Last weekend found the Shootout record of 209 mph shattered by My Way a twin turbine (t-55s...3000 hp per side) 50' Mystic. It arrived Friday from Canada:

And Sunday morning I motored over in my Predictor in time to see its record breaking pass (pic being towed to the start area to save fuel):

Of all the boats in the spectator fleet, I was the only one who had permission from the host venue Capt. Ron's to park directly on the beach:

That is hauling the mail!

Keytime (member on this site) ran his 283 Convincor in the Shootout again this year and won his class.....congrats! Hopefully he will post the video of his passes.

He posted this over on OSO:

"Just wanted to give a shout out to Checkmate for taking at least two classes this year in the 2013 LOTO Shootout. I won the NV2S2 class in my 1999 Checkmate 283 Convincor (Keytime) at 77mph and Mark Hanson took the NV2S1 class at 67 mph in his Checkmate ZT280 (CheckMark). I'm not sure of the year and specs on Mark's boat, but perhaps someone in-the-know can chime in"

NIce pictures and your boat looks good too. It must have been fun to be there.

There is at least one video of the 224 run on u-tube. I was able to post a link to it in another thread here, a few days ago.

I'm hoping "Keytime" gets some video up of his experience this year.

You all have heard about the Pontoon that does 100+. He did 107 at the shoot out last year, this year he beat his own record with a 114 pass. I found an old video of a ride on it doing 107 and a recent shot of him doing the 114 pass at this years shoot out.

Here's a cool pix of Keytime running his Convincor at the Ozarks.....airtime!

Sorry, guys. I've been scarce a bit over here. I was really lucky that Jay Nichols caught me on Friday morning with that shot. That's definitely getting ordered poster size. :)

I'll get my butt in gear on a video. I took one of me in the cockpit. Nothing terribly exciting, but it's what I got.

And what will it take to get Check253 to the Shootout? I wanna see that bad boy at the LOTO Shootout! :D
