Okay, a friend of mine is looking at a 1980 entertainer out of Toledo Ohio. He found it on Craigs List. Was wondering if anyone has any info on this boat. Heres some more specifics:

Color: Red and Silver
Name: Tidal Waive
Engine: 350 CID (the 305 was replaced)

Any issues to be concerned or looking for on an entertainer???

Might go with him on Thursday to take a peek at it.

Looking for any info thanks.

I can tell you that boat was listed on ebay Here in Michigan over the summer and was in Owosso. It was donated to a organization and they listed it on ebay than it made its way to Ohio .....

the boat seems really solid... it has the 305 in it still he said it would do 65mph or better any thoughts on this? also how do i bring the shine back out on and old boat like this new to boating too???...

thanks!

Don't know about 65, sounds kind of high for just a 305. Might read that on speedo but they are known for false readings. What prop you running? Test it in the spring with GPS and let us know :thumb:

That boat will run 65

If it has a 350 in it and is propped right. My 80 Entertainer has a 350 in it and a 21p prop. If I don't sell it this year I'll probably step up to a 23p prop, but I'm getting 60+ gps with the 21p. That's a helluva boat. I still think it's the best looking boat Checkmate ever made!

The boat still has the 305 in it still, however the block # tell me it is a 1986-1989 block, that being said we know that the motor was in fact replaced since the boat is a 1980 but after that i'm not sure we will have to wate till the spring to findout what she will run. somthing i found odd was that thay used grage flor epoxy on the flor of the boat it looks good but is this ok??

I have seen it before. I have thought about doing it myself. I have been told it helps to keep the wood dry because it seals the wood and doesn't hold water like carpet.

cool! thank you for that info Nathan... im brand new to boating so everything is new to me cant wait for the summer!! its still really cold here in MI
