Hey Guys,
Unbelievably couldnt find a single person to go out on the boat after work yesterday in the 90+ degree heat. Wasnt gonna sit at the house and sweat so ran out by myself, had a beer, cool off swim and ran some hot laps. No GPS, and still no tach so didnt go nuts, but figured I could get some more seat time going fast and the water was flat.

Let me tell you, I am real pumped up with the enticer right now!!! :bounce:

ran freakin fast and got it flying with just a bit of trim! had a bit of a shimmy but am getting the feel for steering through it, kept water pressure, and didnt do any real hard chine walking so I think the setup is pretty close.

speed numbers to come!!! :bigthumb:

Jealous of your weather out there. Mid 50's here, cloudy, breezy, mist and rain. Boat is in the garage with it's cover on. Might as well go and work. Interested in hearing about your boat and setup and speed and stuff though. Thanks

oh sorry, setup is enticer with a 135 merc 6 in jackplate, around 3-3.5 under the pad, with a 24p trophy plus. Cant wait to get the tach running to get RPMs.

hey no worries asking, found the motor in a package deal for 500 bucks on a rotted out 1978 crestliner, apparently they upgraded the motor used it till 97, realized it needed an overhaul and then let it sit till last fall. Luckily it seems they stored it properly and its running good, but a rare steal I think, if I was gonna turn it around I'd try to get around 2000 for it.

Reason for upgrading was that the zuke was failing hard and didnt want to wait for a blow up, and I did the install myself, wasnt too bad.

Glad you're enjoying the motor and it does sound like you've got it set up pretty good. I can keep mine straight past about 55 on the speedo, that hi five is sending me all over the lake.

Sometimes it's good going out by yourself (sucks for waterskiing though). Probably gonna end up doing that myself today. It's gonna be over 100 degrees and I'm not working the afternoon. Can't find anyone to play with but don't want to hang out at the house. Forgot to shut the solar panels on the pool and it's at 95 degrees. Great for at night. Not so good today.

Hoping to get back to keuka in august sometime.

Yeah, going out by youself is actually pretty relaxing, assuming you have a spot to launch and recover solo.

I enjoy it too. Got a good spot to launch and recover, just need my bimini to show up so I can float with a little shade, the sun is f'ing brutal right now. A couple of cold beers and some good tunes while floating around in peace and quiet is a little slice of heaven right here on earth.

You better get out there and enjoy that boat. If you wilt in that sunshine we will miss your attempted humor :rof:!

Wow, five hundred is a steal for sure. I'll have to look you up when I do that same project. I've been checking craigslist for a good motor on a rotten boat but the only steals I've found are for 200 hp mercs...that might be a bit much haha. Would love to go 150 hp though..

Your boat looks tough with the blackmax, and I'm sure it flies now. Quite an upgrade!

These are the good old days you will remember fondly. Just curious, is that 135 motor a V6 or a 4 cylinder? I have a 1987 Enticer with a DT115 Suzuki that I have bought all the parts and converted to DT140 specs. Runs good and swings a bigger prop now but I haven't been out alone in it yet. I'm running a 22" Turbo Prop. Maybe it is because it is such a small boat but any additional passengers on my boat seems to make a huge differance in performance. Looking forward to your progress and numbers. Would love to find a V6 Mercury to hang on mine.

Leep, you could roll with a 200hp, I think the weights the same, and that predictor from illimatic that Mr Buss is selling has a 200 on it i think.

Lawson's, Its a v6, I am assuming you lose performance with passengers? I think passengers make a big difference cause they really put the hull back in the water, although my enticer rides about 100 times nicer with a few extra bodies in it when it gets rough.

wonder how fast an enticer would go with the 200hp...I'm thinking 80's...but God help you if you hit a wave! ...mine jumps out of the water all the time as it is

Mine (I've been told by previous owner) will do 68, but I've yet to get it up to that. 55 is as much as I've managed in lumpy water. Hoping for flatter water in the coming weeks.

...but then again, there is only a 135hp v6 under the cowling. :D:D
