Low water p/u?

Howdy everyone... ive got a ? about a low water p/u. Im running an old 74merc 1500 inline
What's the best way to do this. I undertand that an xs of this error come with one. So is worth investing in the lower unit and mid-section? I've read they are 15 in shaft. Or do i just have one installed and jacke her up and run it like she is.

Good luck finding one and you'll pay out the nostrils for it and the mid section. Just get a Bobs LWPU and weld/glue it on.
