Might be a dumb question - rooster tail !!!

Hey Folks,

I have a question about rooster tails. I know the jet boats kick up the big rooster tails with a jet drive, and others try to kick up rooster tail with engine tilt.

I have a 2000 Checkmate 235 Persuader with the 454 and Bravo 1. Is there any device, add-on, or other trick that would allow an I/O like mine to throw up a rooster tail ???

Just curious - I always liked the way that looks...

Thanks

What are you running for a prop/engine height on the Pulsare? I have seen I/O 's throw a little roost, but never bigger than an outboard. (with any performance anyway.)

Not real hard. At least it wasnt of the I/O sea ray we had growing up.
Run about 30 mph and hit the up trim button. The ray would throw a great rooster. Not great for the drive, but looks so cool.
I am sure checkmate/merc has some form of trim limit switch's installed to prevent damage. So I am not sure how far you will be able to trim up.

hotdaddy i see it your way other than a jet the outboard will def get a io and i used to go through are bridge and trim my outboard up to were the prop was at the surface and spray a 4 lane road about 25ft above. coming through a no wakezone get through the brige and punch her givem a bat

Rooster tail

Yeah, the 235 Persuader has a trim limit switch and I certainly DON'T want to damage anything!!!

It sounds like trim up to the limiter and that's as good as it will get? Am I right?

I was just wondering if there was any device or add-on that would throw a neat rooster tail. I'd want something easy to remove for when I want the top end performance.

Any other ideas anybody????:D
