Mirage Plus prop or not

In my opinion and from what I see on the water and in Magazines and from talking to dealers, the Mirage's are old news. Switch to the Bravo 1 and it is like haveing a new boat as far as handleing. If you do not want to lose the 2mph, have it labbed. From everyone I talk to who has had their 4 bladed Bravo's labbed has picked up 4mph over stock. I put my 25 Mirage plus back on last weekend for the hell of it and all i can say is it was horrible! I could not wait to get it off and the Bravo back on!! All of the Factory race boats are now running Labbed Bravo's too.

So, the 4 blade Bravo is faster than the 3 Blade Mirage when its lapped. Its a great looking piece and I'm looking forward to trying one out.

Bill,
What pitch bravo prop are you running?Your RPM's are right were you want them? I thought you'ed need more horses to turn that 15 1/4" prop.

Bill, Whats the price on a labbed bravo 4blade?Are you sure a labbed 4blade wont hurt the top speed? I,ve got a ss 23/15 mirage on an 89 Vision221/454mag. Thanks for any info.

Erik,
I am running a 24p Bravo at 5000 rpm's. No, the rpm's are not were I want, I would like to be at my max wich is 5200, the 22p Bravo easily hit 5300 with nuetral trim. My 24 Bravo is not labbed yet, I am waiting to get a second one and have it labbed. As far as hp, I have more than the carbed 454 motors. This ain't grandpa's small block. THe 6.2 is a 377cu.in. worked over small block that has great torque and mid range. It even accelerated hard with mirage, but it only wanted to run wide open, and then it was real squirrly.

Seaing clearly... A labbed Bravo is gaurenteed to be fast than a stock Mirage and will out handle the Mirage all day long As far as price, I see it can be done from a few people for average of 250 bucks. That is to me the most reasonalbe way to make the boat handle like a sport boat with added speed too! Vinny from here on the forum can reccomend a good place to have one labbed, otherwise there is Mercury Marine and Teague Custom Marine out of California seels them.

I would probably start with a 24p. The best thing to do is talk to whom ever is going to do it and work it out with them so you can tell them where you want to be for spped and rpm. It is like tuning it for you. From what I have seen, Teague is the most expnesive and the place that Vinny went with was pretty reasonable. Maybe Vinny will see this and help us!
