I wish

I wish I did just some of the work but to be honest, I had all the work done by competent professionals and it's ongoing. After the carpet next week, I'll get the cushioned side pads and a bench seat across the stern. The original back seat was bucket seats with a cooler in between. It broke up and blew out of the boat as I was hauling it through downtown Atlanta on the way home from the purchase. I drove 1000 miles one way to get the boat from the original owner in Maryland. Boat and trailer were $1000 with no motor. The 1978 Sweetwater double axle trailer that came with the boat is in unbelievalble shape.

Great deal! I bought mine in Anderson, SC for $1800 with trailer and motor- but the motor was a joke- 50hp merc! LOL lined up a deal to bu my 200hp even before buying the boat- so made the plunge and bought them both. To get the boat was easy- only 100 miles away- the engine was in Tampa- @ 600-700 miles...lol. THEN the money starts to evaporate....jack plates- re-wires- gauges, rigging, etc.....but it's SOOOOOO much fun! and SOOOOOO worth it when you hit the water in a classic Enchanter!!!!! LOVE your boat- absolutely beautiful conditon/ restore! Paint/ finish is my last step to do. Figured I'd get it mechanically sound first- then play with the cosmetics. I hope you don't mind- but I saved your pix for reference when I get to hull restore phase. Thanx!

But now I wish I had gotten one like Checkmatefevers- I/O! LOVE the sound of them comming down the lake! Maybe I can find someone to trade an I/O Check for my outboard Check!?!?!?! LOL! Keep the pix comming of your resto- very good quality!

Thats one fine clean Enchanter. Mines remaining in dry dock this year and going under the knife in the fall for the following season. It needs a little lift and tuck here and there after 23 years of service.
