So my dad was dead against me buying a bigger boat. We grew up on a glastron tri hull and it made a great water sport boat. Its been in his heated garage since 1992 without coming out except to clean shop.
Well I have been on him for the past month to go out and I finally drug his old azz out on it, LOL! I had to tell him that I was buying lunch and that if he didn't go he would not even hear happy fathers day from me!
We put in at Lawrenceburg, IN and cruised up and did a drive by of Cincinnati. My son (4years old) requested that we go to hooters so he could see his girlfriend again
!! We spun around and headed back to Lawrenceburg for lunch. The funniest thing was my dad reaching over and tapping the speedo and saying "why is it off so much, no way are we going 45". I asked him how fast he thought we were going and he said low 30's??? I did do 2 WOT runs that day but the rest of the boating was about 45mph. I did not have the GPS on me but I did spin the 26p bravo's to 5100 rpm for 1 of the speed runs. Normally I spin them to 4600 @ 66mph every time. I know also that I had seen 4900 @ 72mph last outing with Dave, Karen, Joy, Megan, and me. On the way back down river I asked if he wanted to drive. His eyes lit up and he said "I don't care, I guess" like I was forcing him to drive it. As soon as he was in the captain's seat you could not wipe the grin off his face. He drove for 5 miles and even got it up to 60 before he backed out of it. Needless to say, pop's is in love with the big boat
.
We stopped at a little floating restaurant for a late lunch. I was a good feeling when everyone in there stopped eating to check out my boat coming in to tie up
From there we put her back on the trailer and I got to spend the rest of the night cleaning the boat for next weekend's poker run.
I only got a couple pics so I thought I'd share.
Dad's boat: (Its very very nice under all the dust)

Dad driving with his happy grin, lol!

Mom and my 2 kids

Mental note, don't let kids have headsets. When they have them on, they will bicker back and forth and it will drive you nuts!
Long story short, we had a blast. Covered about 80 miles total. Parents are wanting to go to Lake Cumberland with me this year, something that has not happened since about 1990. Parents loved the ride and the entire experience of the big boat. I don't think dad will ever say anything bad about me owning a big boat anymore
