That's 10-11 GPH (gallons per hour).
At 40-44 MPH+, I am at like 10.2 GPH. So, that's just a little over 4 MPG, which is pretty darn good for running at 40+ !
At 63 gallons, that's over 252 cruising miles @ 40-44 MPH!
Oh, and I am at 9 hours for engine time, so it is my understanding that extra oil is still being pumped. That 4 MPG should go up a little. People see anywhere from 4-6 MPG depending on the boat, etc.

I talked to Wildman today, what a wealth of knowledge he has. He told me to try a 23 pitch trophy as well and try to leave the plugs in first to see how the hole shot was then if needed more than take 2 out. We ran 100 miles this weekend and showed 7.8 gph for the day with 6 adults in boat and full of fuel, so im not complaining at fuel consumption way better than what i had lol. Leaving the motor at 3.75 below and he said my chime walking was i over trimmimg the boat that is something i will have to learn he said way different with an outboard. I am going to ordered his 15 inch jack plate and try it, he says it will make a world of difference so we will see. Now i have to find a trophy before the weekend. I also am goin to try a 24p masco 3 blade as well.
He is saying more speed with more set back.

Thanks Philster for the info. I was sitting at computer all night reading on different sites and getting more confused which is easy for me lol. So this morning i have decided to just leave the boat as is, same set back, same height same prop. The more i read and listen to you guys its obivious that moving motor, changing props im only looking at small gains. I am goin to try the 24p trophy Philster has mentioned because i do have a buddy that has one i could try. I think i am goin to just wait and get the Simon Motorsports upgrade which i will have to buy a prop for that anyway and get my performance gain from that.
I cant tell you enough how much this forum has educated me. If any of you are down at Lake of the Ozarks look me up, would love to meet up with you guys take the wives or GFs out and ill buy dinner and first round.
Hre's my take on somethings. I have ran over 250 hours on my 300XS on my 2400LD and averaged I believe 3.5 to 3.8 mpg. I have never seen 4 mpg 'avg on a tank whether I cruise, idol or run hard. Onset back I run 19" and run in sometimes up to 3' swells in the Gulf (usually not by choice) with no problems. Never had a issue with the motor being to low in falling seas. Best so far has been 78.2 fying solo. Usully can see 75 with a light load and two people. Just my findings of almost 4 years running this boat.
