I am replacing the Gimbal ring. Where is the best place to get all parts needed to replace and fix it right. Thanks

if you are going to do that repair, replace everything back there - shift cable, bellows, trim senders (likely shot anyway). doesn't take any more time and you'll be confident in knowing everything back there is perfect.

at very least inspect it all, senders we didnt replace and shift cable was a whole nuther can o worms to get done. we stuck with all bushings, bearings, orings and bezels. shop quoted like 2800 to pull motor and replace gimbal. we replaced a bunch of those items and did the repair and had our time and aprox 1100 into it. didnt have to yank the motor!

we didn't pull the engine when we did the gimbel ring on dads boat - mercury has a plug kit that you can use, makes life a lot easier. the boat we did it on was about 18 years old when it was done - that's why we replaced everything, we knew we'd just have it apart again if we didn't.

while i was at it, we did the gimbel bearing, yoke & seal, shift shaft bushings, u-joints, lower unit seals, water pump and everything in the transom assembly, very nice to just start the boat and go, knowing everything is good shape.
