Need help rigging my wifes Starflight

Hey guys - sorry for taking so long getting back to ya with some photos of my project. I ended up hangin a yamaha 300 vmax on a hyd. jackplate (10" setback) on the back of my 1987 Starflite. Everything turned out awsome. I want to show you all some pixs, if someone could tell me the best way to do that.

Nice!!! :bigthumb: That's the motor I would like on my Starliner. I can't wait to hear your numbers. There was a guy on the forum with a 300x and 10" JP...saw 87.1mph.

I'm gonna run it again this Sat. to get some better #s (gps). This boat has been a freakin' blast this summer. I'm in love with this motor (my wife is jealous). Still can't hold it wide open very long though. It starts doin' the "hula" and its time to slow down. The speedo max's out at 80mph (I know, there not too accurate) but twice i've had the needle back to the 0 mph pin. Hope the gauge didn't break? So I feel I'm at least doin' 80 mph.

...i dont see any difference in dropping that vmax on an '87 or an '07 as long as the boat is what you want...

There is a HUGE difference!

First off, 20 YEARS OF TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT.

Second, the transom area is completely different. That lip was a poor design and has been trouble for many Cmate owners over the years.

Third, the reinforcement in today's Cmate transoms is significantly more than they were in the 80's.

I don't want to start a bunch of bull chit, but I would add some type of reinforcement if it was my boat.

I am no expert, but I have owned both. (1987 Starliner & 2008 Pulsare) Ultimately, it is your decision. I would hate to see you lose the transom in such a pretty boat!!!!!!

Congrats, I hope your wife has the fastest boat on the forum when you are done!:cheers
