can anyone help me locate a repair manual for a 1972 Johnson 200 hp seahorse, every list I've seen on line skips over this engine. I need spark plugs, gaps, carb adjustments compression info - until I can buy my Enchanter the outboard it deserves. Thanks- Bill

Bill,

Silly question.....are you sure it's a '72?

I thought the 200 came out a little later on. You can try my link to Ken Cook, they are usually a pretty good source for old outboard manuals.

Hi Chris
The previous owner said it was a 72" and it said 72" on the old registration so I never questioned it, but maybe it is a 73" that would explain everything - Thanks.

If you have the model and serial number, I can tell you what year it is. I worked as an Evinrude tech for about ten years, then went to work for Evinrude\Johnson in Waukegan. I've got a bunch of old manuals. Maybe I have what you need. Get the model number and I'll do what I can.

I will go down to the lake as soon as I can and get the #, I'll need a day or two- BIG THANKS

Hey Will,
I went last night to check the #,I never really looked at it before, now I'm kind of embarrassed it's
200TL78R so I guess I'm looking for a 1978 manual.
