Look for soft spots in the floor, inspect the transom very close, get a compression gauge and check the compression in each cylinder. Try taking along someone to help you, they may see things you miss.

Welcome -- A beautiful boat with classic colors!! :thumb:

Enjoy -- As with any used boat that age -- Give it the once over -- you will love the boat!! There are guys here that know there chit when it comes to classic mates!!:surf:

Looks like an offshore mid and alien cowl on the engine, but kinda hard to make out..

You identify as a 200, but what year and model??

May be able to get some run history depending on what it is.

Just my opinion, but I'd do a leak down in addition to compression on ANY used engine I'd buy. Leak down #'s are best judge of ring condition, which may or may not indicate potential rebuild.

Good looking boat, my son said looks kinda like Bumble bee'
It's a 2 stroke all you need to do is a compression test if you have 120 in each cylinder or close it's good, Leak down is for a 4-stroke if it doesn't pass the compression test. so you can pin point where the problem is , stem seals ,giudes, valves or rings.
It looks clean from the pics.
