NEW GUY FROM N.C.

Big Red

Well-known member
I sold my Checkmate last week it was official on 10-29-09 and this best part is that it stayed local not to far. Gary the new owner is a stand up guy and is pleased to be a Checkmate owner. He has joined here but has not posted. I encouraged him to read my thread on my boat for sale before he bought it. I do belive that helped the sale. It took a total of 13 days to sell the boat.

Please welcome Gary and board name "gpenner" :thumb:

So....who gets the botm hat? you or Gary?

Ok so what did you get, or are gettin to replace it Red?? Another water toy, or maybe another Mopar?? Anyways, congrats on the sale!

welcome to the family. you really got a nice ride. i have had the privilege of being on the boat when big red had it. you have done well.:welcome:

Thanks guys, I am not sure what will be next but it will be something. And I already got my hat from Checkmate it came this week.

First Post!

Thanks everybody! I can't be any happier with the boat. It is in such great shape, I still can't believe it is a 96... and I thought I was a meticulous boat owner....

and yes, it was helpful to read the threads. It was actually what helped me to decide to buy the boat before seeing it. The youtube videos also helped!

you're not planning to keep my hat, are you?

Congratulations Gary and Big Red,
Good deal on a clean boat,

BR Where did you advertise that you sold your boat so fast?

So.... your boat less now?
It's like trying to BBQ without drinking beer it just don't work for long.

Hey Red you can spit the prizes with him??:D

I could but I am not roflrofl.gif SCT took the pic so theirs a problem being Gary owns the boat now and SCT took the pic. I thought it would only be fair if I kept the hat. Its the 3rd time I won BOTM with that boat and I also won it once with my old jetboat.

Most of the time when people post pics of their boat for sale their pics suck. I used a crap load of pics and also youtube videos of the boat running. My pics included plenty of normal running shots and several cabin pics and thats what people want to see when buying a boat like this. I had pics of everything.

And one more thing my trailer looked good. I don't care how nice of a boat you have if the trailer looks like crap it hurts the boat sale, because the picture will suck then.

I know 1 guy trying to sell a mate but he has a pic of it on the trailer and the trailer looks like crap and that really is hurting the sale of his boat. He does not post here.

I only used this site, craigs list, and tried it on Ebay just to get my boat noticed. But lets not forget I priced it way below what I felt it was worth and everybody new that. But mine sold and everybody else's is still for sale. Thanks to our economy

PS I am not boat less

I still have 3 jet skis, a 16 foot john boat and I just bought another boat today

Thanks BR I agree presentation is everthing, And your boat looked great.
I have seen people try to sell boats, cars motorcycles and they can't figure out why it won't sell,
All they have to do is get off there azz and clean it up.
As far as a boat less goes I had a feeling you had back up. Once it's in your blood you can't go without.
So you bought another boat. Is it the checkmate replacement? What is it?

Aint that the truth!!

i wish i had that boat, but truthfully it was to nice for me to own, i couldnt walk across the bow with sand on my feet, beach it, or drink beer in it for the fact i might spill it.. it was just too nice!!

btw.
WELCOME GARY...:welcome:

I did drink plenty of beer in it and I have walked on the bow to flip the light up but with clean feet. The bow was made very tuff and never flexed a hair. Never beached it but I did get to the point where I could not stand more than me a one other person in the boat.

I admit it was stressful at times keeping it nice but the compliments on the boat made up for that. I am not a fan of a white boat and the red really stood out but it was not easy keeping it nice.

Would I buy another red boat,, Yes I would
