Hey everybody, just saying hey.
I am looking for any info that I can on my boat. I haven't found much at all and I am getting disappointed. I have a 1978 Checkmate Jetmate II with a Ford 460 and a Berkeley 12JF pump with an A impeller and a modified Jetovator to throw those roosters high.
I am also curious as to what my boat weighed from the factory, I am looking to rebuild the jet pump this year and I am curious to see what mph I can get.

Welcome to the board!! You have to get us some action pix of your boat! What part of Ohio are you from? I'd like to see that boat in action some day...............
 
I have some pics of it and the rooster tail, but unfortunately they are on my other computer which had the modem burn out during the last storm we had. I'll have to check around and see what I can find.
 
Current gps'd top speed is an embarrassing 57 mph, but that is because the pump needs rebuilt badly. I am hoping to hit 75 this summer after I rebuild the jet.
 
Welcome. first how long is the boat
2.how much are you willing to spend to get the speed.
3.how much tourqe and hp do you have.
4.how many rpm's are you turning now.
Sorry to ask all the questions but ya need to know these things to set the pump up properly and get the most out of it.But with a 19 ft boat and 460 moderatly built and the pump set up properly you should see 75mph plus depending on how many r's you're turning.get me that info and I'll hook you up with the set up you need.My buddies and I run a-lot of jet boats on the river here.I dont own one but I work on several. :brickwall:
 
1 The boat is 18 feet long and the beam is 88"
2 The money just depends on what I get for it. Don't want to spend 1,000 and only gain 5mph.
3 Torque is approximately 525 ft lbs peaking out around 4,250rpms. The hp is approximately 500 and I believe the peak was somewhere around 5,500, but I'll have to check.
4 I am turning around 5,000 rpms now, but that is probably due to the pump needing a rebuild.


I have always been curious as to if the hull I have is a good one for performance such as other hulls like the Placecraft.

I have some more, but for some reason this is not working well for me. I'll try again later when my luck may be better.

I havent forgot about ya check78 I have to get over to my buddies shop to get all my notes on set ups I just havent been able to with my racing schedule and the up keep.[Ice drags] I'll get the info as soon as I can. :thumb:
