Hello. I joined the forum a few days ago and thought an introduction was in order. I grew up driving my father's '73 Checkmate Jetmate with a 455 Olds and a Jacuzzi YJ pump. He's in the process of restoring it now. It's been fun seeing a couple Jetmates on this site; brings back many fond memories.

I own a '77 Donzi Ski Sporter ("Sweet 16") with a 350 Chevy ZZ4 and a Volvo 270 outdrive.

Here are a couple YouTube links to it:

Welcome to the site, nice boat, I like the classic Donzi's. Please post some pics of your Dad's boat. We'd love to see some restoration pics.

:welcome: Those Donzi classic are very cool boats, if i could get my hands on a Sweet 16 with a V8 in it i would not hesitate!! They have got to be a blast to drive!!! Nice videos too by the way, boat looks great!

There are two issues regarding pics of the Jetmate. The first is that I have none. It went out of commission about the time digital cameras came into being. The second is that I introduced my dad to this site and I don't want to upstage him if he decides to become active here.

Yes, Jetmate. He still has it. The stringers and transom had rotted due to some unsealed penetrations, so he replaced them. He extended the stringers to the front of the rear seat and will relocate the fuel tank up under the bow. The engine compartment is painted and ready to re-mount the engine. After that, the engine will come back out so the boat can be repainted.

Donzai! Er...I mean Nice Donzi! Welcome!
