It sure looks like a MX-14 to me In my avatar was my MX-14. It was a 1970
I'm guessing 71 or 72. Ask the grand wizard (Viper 1). I bet he will know. The deck has more rounded corners than I've seen on MX's and the hull has that arrow tip in the bow that looks like the V-mates.

I will keep that in mind. I'm in the boat pretty cheap so I was planning on putting some money into a good sized engine and keeping it.I had the same boat and it was an mx-15. had a 150 inline on it. very fun boat. if you ever decide to sell, let me know. I have wanted on for years to restore.
Thanks for the info! This is great! Yeah this explains why I can't find any of them. Here's a picture of where that plate should be. (If it works)Checkmate made that deck style in both the MX-14 and MX-15 only in 1970. The MX-14 is 14 ft long and was rated for 100 hp while the MX-15 is 15 ft long and rated for 150 hp. back than Checkmate put the serial number and hp rating on a small metal plate that was placed on the right side of the boat just in front of where the controls would go. The MX-14 was also not as wide as the MX-15. I hope this helps you. Always Sammie Action Marine

Here is a quick pic of the MX-15 ID Tag
I am about to bring this boat home soon and give it a better home.
This boat has been in that plastic shed for over 10 years.
ONE STREET away from my house and I didn`t know about it.
Will take better close up soon.
