hey guys i stumbled onto this site and joined because ive had my enchanter about 4 years now and want to re do interior, gauges, etc. ive got pictures but gotta figure out how to do it. ive already blown the original 92 200 blk max with chrome bores and my mechanic is looking for a newer merc 2.4 with iron bores just because he likes them better and can make more hp. after seeing all the checmates you guys have and how good they look i cant wait to get mine back in the water. any suggestions on gauges or the best place to buy them is appreciated ill be looking for 100 mph speedo and 8000 rpm tach. bye for now

Welcome to the forum!!! Depending on how much you want to spend but Eddie Marine has nice gauges. For pictures use photobucket then copy and paste to the thread you started.

welcome to the forum! for pictures the easiest way is to upload them to photobucket then copy and paste the IMG link into to the reply.

Welcome to the forum! I'm very new here as well having owned my Checkmate for about 3 weeks now:) There is a ton of information on this forum.

As far as guages go, I've had good luck with ebay. However, that was for single replacement guages (replaced the water press guage in my dad's Hydrostream earlier this summer and just replaced the water pressure guage in my Checkmate last night).

I was able to find exact replacements (Quicksilver International II and Teleflex Sportsman which are NLA) for a very reasonable price on Ebay.

thanks for the info I looked at the motors on wildmans site but my mechanic is lookin for a motor on the cheap thats down on one cyl. with iron bores and rebuild it and use my heads that ive already had cut down and any other parts he can use and sell any thing else we dont need

thanks ive been lookin on ebay but im having trouble finding a matching set with 100mph speedo and 8000rpm tach but i dont need oil pressure gauge etc. im trying to keep cost down cause i dont know what its goin to cost yet to replace and rebuild another motor yet. i like your avatar my mechanic used to race unlimited outboards he is retired now but he still knows how make a merc go fast i saw him race in the early eightys and was hittin over 120 in the quarter mile. he had evetually went 144 or so in the quarter mile and broke the record twice i think ive tried to look him up on you tube but nobody filmed it back then i guess. his name is don russel and he is still bad to the bone on a merc motor. he is willing to take my motor back over the winter and balance it to 10000 rpm im game if you or anybody else can video from his racing days iwold like to see it and im sure he would too. well anyway welcome to the forum i better go to work

Check out Livorsi marine for your gauges, I have a set in my boat, they make a variety of colors for faces, bezels and lettering. The quality is 2nd to none.
