Hi everyone! My name is Bruce, I'm a recent Iraqi freedom combat veteran, and I just purchased my first boat, a 72' Checkmate, MX16 with the original 140hp Mercury 6cyc engine. The boat seems to be in great condition considering the age, same for the motor as well. I'm 26, and very new to the world of boating. Any suggestions or pointers about this particular boat would be greatly appreciated! Again hi to everyone, and happy to be aboard. Bruce

:cheers

Can't help you out on your boat, but welcome home and welcome to the board. You will find all kinds of help here, just post in the forums accordingly and you get helpful info. Welcome!

Welcome home and congrats on the boat!! There are several MX owners here, I'm sure someone will be able to answer your questions. We love pics here too...Snap a couple photos, and post them in the "Picture This" section.

:welcome:
Welcome to the board, enjoy the "new" boat, and THANKS to you and all your fellow veterans for all you have done and continue to do. :thumb:
