New to me Sportfire

Enticer1

Well guys I did it, I drove from Tampa, Florida to Albany, New York to look at a Sportfire. These freakin boats are like crack I had to drag her home. Its gonna be hard to say good-by to my Enticer but the deal with the wife was a swap out. Is there some kind of long-distance award for these type of things, it was over 2700 miles round trip. I would have done it in 3 days but a leaf spring on the trailer broke at mile marker 74 in I-95 South in the beautiful state of South Carolina but thats another story. Anyway I've always liked the Sportfires and now I owns one. Anyone need a beater Enticer to play with (LOL)

Doug (Enticer1):cheers

I thought my 700 mile trip was long to buy a Predictor. :D Congrats, Sportfires are so sweet. Is it the metallic red one with the Merc 135 that was advertised here?

Sweet! How about more details and pics? I just got my first checkmate and it's a sportfire. She ain't a creampuff, but she's solid. I want to find someone to paint it.

congratulations, I drove to albany to get my enticer two weeks ago, three hours from here was far enough haha

Seems like alot of people are going to NY to get C-mates. I just went 2 1/2 weeks ago to get my Enforcer. Congrats. boatman

i could not find a solid o/b mate up here to save my life last year

i drove from buffalo to fredricksburgh virginia to pick up mine
and my dad went all the way to orlando to pick up his

Had Lil Dave(17 at the time) meet me in Tampa from Dallas when we bought the Diplomat
It had no trailer so he brought one with him.

hey im right in albany which lately seems like some bizarre dealership for nice old checkmates  ---- i saw that red and silver sportfire listed for awhile and it looked sharp in pics....but after reading some of these stories of cross-country driving to get a boat im glad i found my honey early this summer about 30 minutes from home....from the original owner who was a really nice guy and kept the boat in great shape....albeit original to the core----no radio----no depth finder---no nuthin but what the dealership put in in 1985----anyhow :welcome: and hope that boat is good to ya
