New to Me Starflite

Now that I am a father of a 2 year old that is very active my wife and I decided maybe a bigger boat wouldn't be a bad idea. I saw this boat for sale last year and like all Starflites assumed it would sell but thought it was a good price. Well, a few days ago I saw it pop up on Craigslist again and had to go look at it. It's an 88 Startflite, white with blue and grey accents and a 99 Merc. 225 Opti. The previous owner was an 81 year old man who was moving off the lake he lived on. They did a great job taking care of the interior, the exterior is going to need some love. Either way I am happier than a pig in slop, I have always wanted a Starflite or Starliner. :surf:

Looks nice. My flite was a blast with the 3.0 on it. Not a low-speed boat though with the weight out back. I think the slowest I could maintain was 30 mph.

Have fun. :thumb:

Thanks Man!!!!! It has been so long since I've ridden in a Starflite I've forgotten how much I love the way it rides, such a difference over my Predictor. I know what you're saying about the not a low speed boat, and its especially bad because I have a loose wire or blown circuit in my jack plate so it won't go down....... finally settles down at like 4500 rpm.

Congratulations, that's great!
My family also went from a Predictor into a Liner/Flite hull. It was like stepping into a quick, high steppin' Caddy.
Best move we ever made till we stepped a few years later into 2 feet longer.
We (me) nearly cried when we got rid of our Liner with the 3.0 Merc.
So reliable., so great on so many levels.
Maintaining 2 boats is doublework. Otherwise we would have kept her.
If you do a search on this site I don't think you're gonna find much dissatisfaction with this series.
I still miss her.
Enjoy yours! Until your next 2-foot-itis.

That is a great looking Starflite. It certainly appears to have been taken care of over the years; that interior looks mint! A little elbow grease on the exterior and she'll look like new. Great purchase. As much as I like the black/white/red color scheme on my Starflite, the color scheme you have will be about 1000 degrees cooler in the summer sun, and easier to keep looking good. Its always nice to see excited new owners of these boats.

Thanks for the compliments, I'm really happy with this boat. My father in law has an all black with red and silver accent Starflite and my wife says she likes this one better. So far I've been really impressed with the 3.0 liter and the all around performance. Looks like it's time to start prop testing.
