Finally got everything hooked up, went to crank it up and im getting no spark at all through the motor. Bad trigger? Im new to outboards so any help would be awesome.

Could be anything, but have you tried the easiest first like making sure the emrgency kill switch is in the proper position?
 
disconnect the main plug from the engine, jump the starter solenoid and crank it, see if it sparks then, very unusual to have no spark at all, that is generally a boat issue
 
ended up being a bad bulb in the spark plug checker. Ive got spark in the 3 passenger side plugs but none on the driver side plugs.
 
Check you connections from the stator to the switchboxes, you can also do an ohm test on the stator to make sure its 1/2 dead, That would be the first thing I would check.
A bad stator will definitly only light up one bank. As a test ,you can switch the leads from the stator to the switch boxes and then drivers side will have spark and the passenger side will not. Make sure you put everything back the way is supposed to be when you install the new stator.
