Not bad for a thirty year old boat

I purchased a 1979 model Checkmate Eluder with a 79 150 Evinrude this past fall as a project boat. With a lot of elbow grease and help of Aquabuff, I have finally got the boat looking like I want it. Also I replaced the interior and added a jackplate. My next project is to have the trailer sandblasted and painted. Here are some before and after pictures.

Thanks for posting my pictures for me.

I am sure I will enjoy the boat too. It is a lot of fun to drive. I installed a jackplate with a 6 inch setback in order to get a little more speed and make it run more efficiently. Without the jackplate the motor was too far under the pad and I was having a hard time making it turn up the proper wot it was supposed to do. I have not run it since I put the jackplate on, but hopefully the weather will cooperate this weekend and I can see what she will do.

Turned out nice . Also nice and shiney . Looks like that aqua buff every one has sbeen talking about really works . Yors looks really good :thumb:

Nice looking boat.... one step at a time is the best way to do any project just remember have fun and enjoy the results

Ah yes! Another one saved from the crusher. Nice job. Except that ski pole. I think it looks out of place on your boat. Maybe you should take it off and send it to me. I'll take care of it for you. :)

Real nice finish Aqua Buff and a lot of work makes a big diff.. I seen the Crane Marine sticker are you in Alabama if so where.

Yep, I'm in Bama. I live in a small community just south of Atmore, if you are famaliar with this area. I usually boat around Gravine Island on the Tensaw and have a camp at Lower Bryant's landing near Stockton.
