Picture of My 79' Predictor Restoration

I finally got the boat running. Got it to about 60mph. I'm having some problems with porpoising and seem to think I need to put some weight in the front, I was considering putting the battery up there. I was able to finally trim the boat out right (with no porpoising) by keeping the motor trim completely....which seem to defeat the purpose of being able to trim your motor. Does this sound right to anyone? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Below are some pics. I still have to install the carpet, mahogany floor, the radio, rear seat, windshield, and fabricate some mahogany trim pieces.

Boat looks great. One thing I can say about the porpoising is that they will bounce until you get to about 30 to 35 range and they it starts to smooth out. The lake I boat on is pretty rough on the weekends, I spend a lot of time at that speed with the trim all the way in/down. The hi-five isn't helping much either...I have that same prop, and I start to chine walk at about 60.

Great looking boat!!! I had a porpoising Predictor and found putting a hydrofoil on the lower unit significantly improved the ride (albeit at the cost of a couple MPH)...It is more stable and can pull recreational watersporters. I purchased a fat sack (big bag for ballast) to put in the bow, but it made the boat feel sluggish. I still get 50+ mph out of it. Again, great looking boat!!!

It's been a while since I posted. Since then, I've installed the windshield, carpet, and mahogany floor. See below.

I also took a couple close ups of the rigging.
