pls help rail end cap missing

so after a grate day on the ne cape fear river with my mom and wife we loaded the boat and headed home. going over a bump I hear the faint sound of something metal bounce down the road thinking ohhh that cant be me,,,,, get up this morning and go to cover my eluder and I see it:pissed::pissed:
I was so proud of the rails on my boat and how grate they looked everything all shined and I just buffed the hull too.
anyway I need the forward cap for the rail on a 1979 eluder. I have no idea what outher boats have the same rail but it makes a soft bend into the hull 2 screws in it and it slides into the tube for the rail. if possible pls contact me directly 910-512-0224 neil. I wont be on line much this week as im finishing a restoration on a 69 vette that has to ship on Friday so ill be sleeping in the shop all week. ill gladly do whatever is needed to replace my missing part. thank you for any direction you can provide as I know some of these parts can be hard to find.

I'm pretty sure a lot of us know what you're looking for, but a pic always takes out the uncertainty. I'll bet there are a couple rail ends out there...

you are correct a pic would help however all I can find to add a pic is the one on the top of this page that asks for a url. there saved on my desk top but I have no idea how to get them on hear. any ideas?

Okay...pics are a challenge at first, but once you get the hang of em' it's easy. I suggest opening a photobucket account. It's free and convenient. Then, just copy the "image" link that accompanies each picture you upload and past that link into your message.

You can also use the search function and look for photos...we've had a lot of threads on that topic. I'll paste a couple linke to threads in my next reply.

I just recevied his pics but there not close enough to see the rail. I found this pic in a search and beleive its what he needs.

well I have to admit after 20 years in the automotive restoration biss I get a knot in my a## when some parts come up and lets face it I think ive got the only eluder on the forum nobody even mentions them so ive had a time figuring out anything abt the hull how they compare what to do to improve it any information at all is well just not there. add to it all im new to checkmates and I just don't get to do many boats let alone a 79. so when it came up missing I figured oh grate where the heck am I gona find that and I was sooo proud of it having all that kind of stuff there. I just knew id have to mill a set to replace it.
anyway keth earned a BIG THANK YOU for making it that easy I should have it on sat in time for 2 days playing on the intercoastal waterway and gar fishing on the ne cape fear..... may even try to get her in some deep water dolphin tuna are running now so im all happy to do some fishing and play some at red neck beach.
thanx agin to everyone for making this a cool site now if I could just figure out how to post pictures

I've got an Eluder and I'm in the same state as you! Sadly the transom is cracked and the floor needs replacing.

im really shocked that theres not more talk abt the eluder.... for an old boat I love mine. im finally parting ways with my 85hp rude and im thinking im going to build a jack plate somewhere around 10in just to see what happens. I know the 135 rude has some room to grow so im gona fire up the mill and mill the heads down as well as give it a bumper to bumper, as for the hull soon im getting all if the vinal and intior redone ive got a gps, fish finder, vhs, and stero all waiting on me to mess with it. I just finished a custom paint job on a 69 corvette and its got me thinking abt adding some custom work to the old girl, probally should name it too.idk sooooooooooo much to do so little time to do it all
