Poor performance

Hey everyone I have a 1987 21 foot starflight with a 200 Mercury. I don't know if it's a prop problem I could only get around 50 55 miles an hour out of it I'm running a 26 pitch 3 blade..when I try to get it up on plane it's like it's in natural..eventually it catches and goes..does anymore have thoughts...

I had the same boat with the same power and that 26p prop is to big. I ran a 24p Trophy (4 blade) with 6" set back brackets and a 5.5" hydraulic jack plate. I saw a best of around 65mph with that set up.

x3 - prop too much pitch
I had the same setup as well. Ideally add 8" jackplate and go with 24p Trophy or drop to a 23p w/o a jp. And that motor likes the small diameter hub props like the Trophy or Tro4. Not enough displacement for a large hub prop like Tempest.
