Thought I'd share some news with you guys regarding my father-in-law Doyle Kelly.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a little over a month ago. In fact it was right after I posted his pics on my blog. I have always been able to count on Doyle to pitch in on almost every project I have ever started. From laying hardwoods and hanging sheetrock in my new house; to restoring campers and trailers. Doyle has left a positive mark on everyone he has come in contact with; not through words or advice; but by the generous giving of his time. He has never hesitated to grab a wrench or a hammer and lend a helping hand. A real salt of the earth kind of man.
He was really looking forward to helping out on my Enforcer restoration. In fact all through the beginning stages of his diagnosis and surgery he's been asking about it. Man it really puts a lump in my throat. I don't think I'll get it done before he passes on but at least he'll be able to see the progress. He'll be coming to live with Lisa and I; and will be getting his chemo and radiation here in Nashville at Vanderbilt. Lisa and I will be doing most of his care between treatments(I'm an ER Trauma nurse here at VUMC and Lisa is a nurse at Baptist Med Ctr).
Keep Doyle and his family in your prayers; he dosn't have many months or days left; I only pray that he meets the Lord with as little suffering and as much peace as possible. Everyone here has been great; Thanks for letting me share this with you.
