Premix ratio

Mix Ratio

I use 50 to 1 in my 175hp V6, about 2.6 ounces per gallon or 12 ounces
per 10 gal give or take a little. Pennzoil permium plus synthetic blend,
it's easy to find around Erie and is supposed to be easer on the enviroment.
From what I have heard synthetic or synthetic blend is better than reg 2 cycle
oil.

50:1 should be fine - synthetic doesn't hurt - amsoil doesn't seem to smoke as much as regular oil. stay away fromt the cheap crap though - unless you like rebuilding your engine. if you don't go synthetic, then run the merc premium plus oil.

Thanks guys when my son was racinging motorcycles and before the 4-stroke I did a lot of testing with oils and fuel. The best combo I found was
VP-C12 leaded gas with Belray or Motorex full synthetic oil.Oils and fuel make a big difference. For now I just want something that that runs good and is available.

I run my engines a little ritch i mix 6 gallons to 18 ounces about 40 to 1 . I ran my 80hp on my baja 5300 rpm extra oil prevents high speed boms

The real deal

50 to 1 is what you should be running. 50 to 1 equates to 16ounces to 6gallons of gas. Use quicksilver premium 2 strock oil and add quicksilver fuel treatment (forgot the technical term) at least twice a year. I use it every tank. This will leave your cylinders in the best shape.

Someone may want to go back to school for math. If you only mix 12 ounces in 10 gal of gas you will be running almost 100:1! Sounds like a good way to wreck your engine to me. This equates to about 4.8 gal of gas for 12 oz. of oil.
