alright heres the thing...this weekend was the first weekend I have tried to pull someone behind my boat...it is a 83 21 ft enchanter with a 200 merc with a 25p prop (not 26 like i first thought...I was able to pull someone on a tube but it took a lil while to get used to it....every time right before it planed out it would rev up and throw a huge rooster tail....Is the prob my prop...cause ive heard that that high of a pitch is pretty much for top speed..anyone recomend a diff prop??? also it is a closed bow so there is no weight in the front...im sure thats a big part of it....but if anyone knows a solution let me know....thanks

Yeah, you have plenty of power to pull a tube.

I like to have 2 props... One for 'speed' and one for pulling.

I would look for a 21-23p prop to plane out faster.

Measure the propshaft in relation to the bottom of your boat. Sounds to me like the motor is mounted a little too high, or you're not trimmed under fully when you're taking off.

pitch is definatly high. that is for sure. how high moter is could also be but i do know that that pitch is very heavy to pull a skier i would carry a lot less it depends on how much you are carring with you people gas i think i would pull with a 21 and not over rev the moter switch props when you want to get the top end.

find some one that you can borrow props from were are you located maybe some one has something around your area.

thanks for the help...as far as the exact measurement im not sure because it is like 1 am here ..but i did notice it was mounted as far down as possible because it was mounted with the top bolt holes on the motor...another suggestion somone gave me was to put some weight in the front (sand bags is what they suggested) because with my boat being a closed bow i have no weight in the front at all and they said usually when they pull people they put people in the front seats...Kinda sounded like a half a$$ way to do it but i dont know...anybody heard of other people doing this??

here is an example for ya. I have a 2.4 bridgeport i run a 28 to a 30 pitch depending on how much room i have in the lake i spin the 30 in a decent area to 7800. cant remember the guy at hydromotives name but he wanted me to take my boat to rumble and drag race it with a 22, i had a 22 from the previous owner. i spin a 22 in no time flat would make a great ski prop, top end is a lot slower but you live with it and dont over rev your moter.

i really think that you are running way to much prop and remember 2 strokes dont make alot of low end torque they kinda have to get some rpms up to pull sombody.

as for the wheight we used to pull skiers with a 18 ft closed deck no problem. one of the skiers was my buddy who weighed in at an atheletic 240lbs he was a little bit of a drag but we got him up. and yes it took a little proping and there were only 2 of us in the boat.
