Procharged 502 ZT280

Hey everyone! I just ordered the M-3SC procharger for my 2000 ZT 280 with a stock 502. I will be running 5psi. Max speed as of right now is 63-65. I am wondering why it will be after I bolt this on? Also prop selection? I am currently running a 22p bravo @ 4700rpm. Out drive is a bravo 1 with a 1.50 ratio. Any ideas?..:)

It will be faster because it packs 34% more air and fuel into your engine at 5 psi making it act like an 11 liter engine instead. Essentially making an idealized 34% more horsepower.

Who is doing the installation of the procharger? The fuel system setup and rising-rate fuel regulator are notoriously problematic on these prochargers. Procharger is a nice piece, but no where near as a straight bolt on and done kit like a whipple.

You're getting 65 mph out of a 22p prop?
Is that on the speedo or gps?
According to my calculations your theoretical speed is 65.
If you figure in a general 10% slip you're running about 58 mph.
Maybe I'm missing something.
If you can turn a 26p prop after the install and run the same rpm then you'll be about 70 mph with that 10% slip factor.
A lot of factors involved but general rule of thumb is 1 mph for every 10 hp.
We used to nickname them Pro Grenades.

you should gain 10-12mph min with proper tuning...BUT, if you install it and run the way procharger says, assuming it's a EFI, won't last to long, their bandaid fuel system upgrade is a joke at best, all they do is jack up the fuel pressure and pray it stays together. the entire fuel system needs to be addressed and the ECM retuned, places like eddie young or kunkles can help...good luck

Some recent fuel injector tests a friend of mine has been doing has been shocking about how if you have a slightly weak injector, how the difference between flow increases exponentially as you Jack up the pressure. I suggest having your injectors cleaned and flow matched before burning down a piston.
