Procharger

I have a '97 253 Convincor with a 502mpi and I am considering putting a procharger supercharger on...any thoughts ???

The reason, I want more speed:devil:

there are many out there, it will increase speed as you wish...i loved the heck out of my setup!
we have a 502mpi in a 272 baja, setting it up based on fuel pressure as stated in the procharger info is pretty tough, its still up and down a bit. makes it hard to beat on it because of the ??'s regarding fuel. i believe there are guys out there that will reflash the computer to adjust for this, but, check into the fuel system setup. its been a while for me to give you too much advise on this.
run 3-5 psi and you should be ok. the baja is holding out perfect for 3 years now, but still fighting with the fuel thang.

there is a supporter here that does this stuff too, cant remember his name though, maybe he'll chime in.

I have a 253 with a procharger, I switched mine to a HP500 carb and took the 502EFI out...don't care for the band aid fuel system from procharger..love my setup....80+ going to start tuning this season

thats right where i was with my 242, 83.6 at best...ran a 26 and 28 bravo prop, liked the 26 because i could turn 5800-600 rpm so the pull/acceleration was amazing!!

80+ is a blast isnt it? :bigthumb: i miss it.

I too am thinking about putting a ProCharger on my 253 with a 502. Where is the best place you guys have found for a price? Should I go M1 or M3? I was thinking the M3 and just turn it down for now with a bigger pully. Do I need to do tuning or do they come complete?

the biggest issue is the bandaid fuel system they do...some work for a while but without doing a complete re-do on the fuel system and a re program of the ECM you are asking for trouble....I just built my own EFI system and are tuning it right now...some have had ok success with the factory system...many have not..the only thing procharger does is jack up the fuel pressure to about 90psi to richen it up to live...
