prop for 2100 pulsare

95 Pulsare

New member
I need some advice on propping my 'mate. I have a '95 pulsare 2100 with a '95 225xri and 25 inch Tempest plus prop. It currently runs 61mph(gps) at 5000rpm(WOT). This is with a CMC(5inch?) hydraulic lift at the highest jack setting. I have talked with a local merc/setup expert who advises a 23inch laser 2 instead of the 25inch tempest plus. Has anyone used this prop? Thanks for any insight.

The Laser 2 is not a very good prop. Try a 23 Trophy plus or 23 Tempest. Laser2 prop is old technology and design. Lasers slip and blow out in turns.

95PULSARE, You are running slow for some reason. I have the same boat/motor combo with a closed deck and have run 72mph gps. Make sure your engine is running correctly. The 1995 225xri's had a recall to recalibrate the electronics to reach full throttle rpm. Make sure it was done. Check your throttle linkage to make sure you are at w.o.t. At your highest jack plate settings what is your x-dimension. You should be no deeper that 2" below the pad for best top end numbers and your motor should be able to swing a 25 tempest to at least 5500 rpm. Also, put your bow cover and center windshield in place. You will pick up at least 3mph for improving aerodynamics.

Thanks for the help! Jupiter Pulsare, my x-dimension is 1-2 inches below the pad and the boat is a closed bow. I will have the motor electronics and throttle linkage checked. Again, thanks for the advice!
