My boat is a 2004 1600BR with a 2 stroke Johnson 115 V4. I have a 13.5x19 SS prop right now and I just got my tach working today. I went out for a little blast and I it looks like the prop is too "short" for my setup as it turns about 6300 rpm with no trim and just snapping the throttle. This motor supposedly makes peak power at about 5000 RPM according to the manual. So I'm way out of the power ban. I have a 13.5 x 22 Renegade SS prop that I think I should swap to bring the rpm down. Is this a good setup or should I look to another prop with more pitch?
