Pulsare 2000BR Under Construction

Nice boat Drex, it looks crisp and clean....I like the colour scheme you chose....it's a nice upgrade from your last Pulse, which was also a beauty....what are ya powering the new rig with?

B.P.

Vey Nice looking. Great colours.

I would give Eddie Marine a call and get some blue bezels to offset those gauges. Although, It may look too hot then and spontanously combust.

Dave got us a great deal on a new 2005 Mercury 200 EFI. I had a line on a 225X when I first started the whole process of ordering the new boat, but it was a lot more $$ over the 200 EFI. I should still be able to run high 60’s with the 200. I wasn’t really looking for a 100 mph screamer when we ordered this boat. Just wanted a nice all around family boat. The only requirement I had was it had to be a Checkmate!

Hey Drex,

I have a new 200 EFI on my Pulse 185 and I see low to mid seventies, so you will def. hit high sixties if not a bit more on your new rig. And be happy you got one of the last EFI beauties, contrary to what many people say Merc is most def. still having issues with the new Opti technology.

B.P.

Hey Black Pulse,

I used to have a 1992 Pulse 185 almost exactly like yours! According to the guys at the factory the 2000BR is lighter than the Pulse 185. If you are seeing low to mid 70's I would think I should be right there too. The boat is now back at Dave's shop in Fargo. Hopefully I'll have it later next week!! Does anyone think the bunks on the trailer look long?

Yah, the bunks look a little long. I wonder if the use the same trailer for both the 2000 and 2100 Pulsare? It can probably be adjusted. You usually have to move axles and such a bit to get it balanced anyway. I've moved the winch bracket forward on one trailer to get more weight on the tongue. On another one I moved the axles back. Rule of thumb is 10% on the hitch. Anyway, nice looking rig. You'll be happy with the motor too. Who can afford the gas to run at WOT all day anyway? When you do, 70 MPH should be possible with the right setup.

I think those trailer bunks look perfect! You want the rear tab that is supporting the bunk to be underneath your transom aft edge. It looks to me it's on there about perfect, if not maybe one inch up too far................

Better to have the bunks to long than to short. The Eagle trailer under my 2100 Pulsare stick out about 4". But with 12" of set back, I moved the boat forward to get my tongue weight back. Great looking boat. Love the color'. Mine is white with purple and yellow. Good luck with the new Mate. boatman

NICE BOAT! The colors are great. Thats the exact size Pulse I want to buy one day. The 200 sounds like a great compromise between fuel costs and top speed.

Motor is on! The red decals will have to go. Good thing it is winter, it will give me some time to decide what to do with the cowl. Dave says maybe next week for delivery… I can’t wait.

alwaysredee,

I have not even seen the boat in person yet. The dealer I bought it from might be delivering it this week. It will be spring before I get to drive it.

Drex,

I am going over to look at it tomorrow, I am excited to see what it looks like, I cant imagine how you must feel.

Here it is rigged, covered and ready to go. Dave's guy is delivering it tomorrow. I should have it around 5 pm. Then it will be washed, dried, garaged and covered until spring.
