Pulsare trim tabs plus swim ladder??

So I'm about to purchase a 2012 2400 BRX. I previously had a 2400 Pulsare closed bow. I purchased my last one used and it came equipped with some pretty beefy Dana trim tabs. Loved using the tabs. I live on a pretty rough lake and dropping the tabs in the chop significantly improved the ride quality. So I want to equip my new BRX with some. Not quite sure what brand I'll go with yet, but nonetheless...

The previous boat had the stainless steel ladder on the stern which interfered with the tabs, so the bottom half of the ladder (the fold down part) had been removed. So we basically used the tab as the step up to get to the ladder. It worked, but I hated seeing the ladder like that. Always looked broken. Wasn't a huge fan of putting the weight on the tab either when getting in the boat.

The new BRX has the plastic platform style swim ladder on the stern with the spring up step. Although I dig that design, I'm assuming it's going to have to go as it's pretty much where I would need to mount the tab on that side.

So long story short, what have you all done with your tabs and the swim ladder? Any pictures of your set-ups? Suggestions?

That's pretty slick!!! Does it stay mounted all the time or is it removable?

Looks like it stays on all the time? I need to call them and see exactly how it works. Looks like there is a screw or something that allows you to loosen it up and slide the lever up when you're done with it? Not nearly as convenient as the current swim step, but it'll do!!!

I installed the Lenco Edge mount style 12" long by 9" wide at hindge, this size all though for an 18 footer fits perfect between the chines just inside the spring boarding ladder & when ladder is fully down has 1/2" clearance between ladder & tab. The tabs work great leveling the boat when heavy on one side or in different sea conditions & will keep boat on plane at speeds as low as 15 mph, great for when i take my youngest tubbing, love the simplicity & efectiveness of these tabs.

I was actually eying these up already. Just to clarify, you have these on your 24 BRX? And you're pleased with their performance so far?

Thanks!!!!!

Yes i installed them on my 24 BRX & am very happy with them, they level the boat in just about any condition i've needed. Before purchasing when i spoke to Lenco they advised that these tabs were for boats in general up to 18' & after telling them what type of Checkmate i had they told me they would work, & work well they do. One thing to though, with the left tab fully down & if you forget to bring it up, witch is always my case :yell: :pissed: the springed boarding ladder will touch the tab enough to mark the ladder but not bend it nor damage the tab.
