Questions about local boating laws

Not all cops are A-Holes I have had my fare share of tickets. Believe me when I was a bit younger the cops already new my name before I gave them my license. I had to change cars just so they would not recognize me. And to tell you the truth 99% of the time I deserved that ticket. State patrol man Willy Grooms gave me the last 11 out of 13 tickets I ever had. I do not care where I was, in town, back country roads, interstate he was their and caught me doing something wrong. He was like my guardian angle from H E L L

Thank God he retired 6 years ago. I have been clean ever since  all but BS tickets inspection out of date, Tinted widows to dark, seat-belt, Unlawful Assembly, disturbing the peace of Mocksville citizens that one came from running open headers in town.

But when it comes to water I do get pulled over for no reason. I still think its because my boat is solid red like a stop sign or maybe they just like Checkmates
:bigthumb:

Its like having a vette or a fast and furious car, when they see a checkmate they just know you are gonna go fast, havent got ticketed but when they see me they are glued.

in ct. we have the ENCON police (enviromental conservation) that can be a bit difficult or real nice, depending on the attitude of the last person they pulled over. The local cops are not too bad for the most part but you do get some power hungry a$$#$. Max speed on any body of water is 45 mph daytime and I believe 30 mph or 25 mph after sunset.
I've already gotten one ticket this year ($75.00) for illegal parking at the ramp (pre-season and the docks were not yet installed - I left my truck and trailer on the ramp while I took a quick shake down blast)
I agree with GIMME FUEL that their main focus this year will be for revenue generation to preserve their jobs. It sucks for those that use their time on the water to get away from the pressures of the economy and potential job losses to have to worry about doing time for having fun.
If they would just outlaw jet skis the water ways would be much safer for all.
