paulsboats

Well-known member
put a new racor on filled it and hooked it upstarted engine and it runs out of fuel whats up with that? runs fine hooked up without the filter. any ideas?

racor

no check valve...strange looked it all over all hooked up correct. no leaks hmmmm maybe its beer thirty:cheers:

racor

yes probally....im i bit distracted now anyways was planning on going to the lake tomorrow but im going to be a great grand paul@ any moment! boy im getting old! lol

Check the seals on the racor housing. If it is not air tight fuel will not make it to the engine. Also, what mircon rating is the filter that your using?

I've heard the very fine filters can be too much for the vacuum powered fuel pump on outboards to overcome. Speaking of which, I hope the new one I screwed on after winterizing the boat is OK.

racor

think maybe my pump is weak? im not sure what micron size it is,what theguy at the local marina suggested.maybe a electric pump and relay is in order. oh ya its a girl 8.8 lbs and 21 inches long that had to of hurt!

Congrats! Remember when women would drink and smoke and have normal sized kids?:rof:

Obviously you're a little tied up right now but when you get a chance just grab the part number off of it and google it, you'll find out what it is.

Thanks. I've got the other one I bought sitting on the shelf in the shed, I'll have to see what it is. Hopefully its not too fine.

Congratulations on your newest lifeline to the future! I hear that the only thing better than Parenthood is Grandparenthood.
