Red line

What is the redline on a 2000 Mercury 200 EFI Nitro series outboard?
I've had her running 6000 according to the tack, but not sure if that's a bad idea...:(

I have a 1997 200 EFI, I turn it like 6100-6200 sometimes WOT. Take a little life out of it I guess, but I have fun.

Side note if you do not premix I believe this is where you could loose the reliability of the plastic oil gear. My oil gear was bad when I bought the boat, so I just premix oil in fuel. Plus you are sure the motor has oil.

To sum it up I see no problem turning 6000 RPM, just use the needed precautions.
Mike

Remove oil injection and premix. There is a kit i forget the number on it, I have not done it though because my oil injection does not work.

Topless helps....:thumb:. Or go fast enough blow the top off:bigthumb:.
