So, Wildman, if I were to buy an engine from you, you could ship it up here and I'd just have to find somebody to put it on the boat for me? (I'm not equipped to do it myself, nor do I have the know-how to be sure that it was done right if I did it.)
The problem is in finding somebody around here (Duluth, MN) who is really good at rigging this type of boat. I get little comfort from our local dealers. They all look at the boat as if they've never seen anything like it before. I'm afraid that I would get your standard Lund/Bayliner/whatever setup if I took it to any of them--stick it on the back of the boat, hook up the linkages, and done...
Somehow I doubt that setting up an 80mph+ boat is that easy. At least not if the owner wants to stay in one piece.
At the very minimum, I'd want to know that the setback and propping are correct. They probably wouldn't even know what the word "setback" means.

I ship boats and motors anywhere. The 24 will run 74-75 with one person running light with a 300xs. It will run 70 with 3 people and half tank of gas. We get 21's insured with 300's all the time. You don't tell them how fast it goes!
